The company specializes in marine products, including the “swimming scallop” brand. Prior to the 2011, the company was thriving with approximately 40,000 clients. It was able to resume business in 2012, and works to benefit three parties: customers, the local community, and themselves, with their signature “swimming scallops.” Kimigahora has a deep passion for scallops, and is dedicated to satisfying the tastes and hearts of customers by providing seafood from Sanriku to tables all over the world.

2007年に父が創業した釜石市「泳ぐホタテ」ブランドの海産物通信販売を継ぐべくヤマキイチ商店に入社。約４万人の顧客を誇っていたが、震災により事務所や作業場が被災。2012年には出荷を再開し、「生きたまま届く泳ぐホタテ」を看板商品に、顧客・地域社会・自分たちの「三方良し」を目指し、現在は出荷待ちホタテガイを常時1万枚以上持ち、精力的に三陸本来のブランドを提供することに尽力する。
