Matsunaga is the fourth-generation son of the Matsunaga kiln, a producer of Oborisoma ware since 1910. After the disaster, he wanted to contribute to revitalizing Oborisoma ware, a traditional craft from the Obori district in the village of Namie. He started a business selling Oborisoma ware with a passion to show how appealing traditional Japanese crafts are. He infuses modern and dramatic elements into fading Japanese traditional standards to appeal to the desires of the world. He works on product to expand to market overseas.

大堀相馬焼の窯元「松永窯」4代目として生まれる。震災をきっかけに浪江町大堀の伝統工芸品である「大堀相馬焼」の再生に貢献するため、「大堀相馬焼」の企画・販売を手掛ける事業を開始。世界でのジャパン・ブームを体感してきた松永さんは、今の世界を生きる人々の感性に響くよう、「Modern」に「Dramatic」に、薄れつつある日本の伝統的価値を世界の新たなニーズと劇的に合致させていくことで、海外へのアプローチに取り組んでいる。
